Metzger's Goal Gives Pfeiffer a 1-0 Win Over Piedmont

Maryville, Tenn. (Aug. 30 2019) –  The Pfeiffer University women's soccer team started the 2019 season off on a good note, as senior Hailey Metzger provided the lone goal in a 1-0 Falcon win over Piedmont College at the Maryville Invitational on Friday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
Pfeiffer logged 12 shots while allowing 12, with three being on goal in the win.  Goalkeeper Madison Riddle ( provided three saves on the day in earning the win.

Metzger scored an unassisted goal in the 54th minute when she scored on a right foot blast from 10-yards out that beat Piedmont keeper Miranda McNalley to the lower right side of the goal.

The win gives Sean Esterhuizen his first as head coach of the Falcons.
