HIGH POINT, N.C. — Pfeiffer University's Aaliyah Jackson has been selected as the final NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week during week number nine of the 2012 season. This marks the second time Jackson has won the weekly award also grabbing the honor in week #1, her first week of collegiate action.
Jackson, a freshman, helped the Lady Falcons secure home field advantage in the first round of the Conference Carolinas playoffs with a career-high four goals at Belmont Abbey on Saturday afternoon. Jackson, a freshman of the year candidate, put home the equalizer in the 29th minute of the first half before adding insurance in the 32nd, 51st and 71st minutes in the 4-1 victory. Jackson finished her rookie regular season with 11 goals on the year before adding one more against Queens in a 2-1 overtime victory in Monday's first round.
Jackson and the Lady Falcons will look to continue their tournament run with a semifinals matchup at Lees-McRae on Thursday afternoon.
