MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The 2012 Pfeiffer University women's soccer team will be raising awareness for Ovarian Cancer all season. The Lady Falcons will wear teal warm up shirts for every home game in September, Ovarian Cancer Awareness month, that began last Saturday. Women's Volleyball will also host their annual "Dig Pink" match in October for breast cancer awareness.
T-Shirts will be available for $6 to help raise money and awareness for ovarian cancer. Donations will go to the North Carolina Medical Foundation of Chapel Hill. Month long awareness will continue on September 21st at 10am in the Chapel as the Women's Soccer team will host Nancy Wilkinson, RN, MSN as a guest speaker, along with Sharron Frahm.
The Lady Falcons will help raise the money in honor of Frahm who is a standout tennis player in North Carolina. Frahm, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer stage IIIC twelve years ago, will share her story on September 21st. She was inducted into the North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame in 2007 and recently into the Guilford Sports Hall of Fame back in 2010.
