MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - A goal in each half was just enough for Mount Olive to survive with a 2-1 win over Pfeiffer University in Conference Carolinas women's soccer action on Wednesday night. The Trojans move to 5-1-1 on the year, 4-0 in league play, while the Lady Falcons fall to 3-6, 2-3.
Carlee Bock put Mount Olive on the board in the 25th minute as her corner kick snuck through traffic giving the Trojans a break they needed for the 1-0 advantage. Just 58 seconds into the second half, Sheena Regan put the visitors on the board after a quick pass from Lexie Makris.
Just past the hour in the 63rd minute, Sarah Porter converted the game-winner to keep the Trojans unbeaten in league play. Britt Polly turned away 11 shots on the night as Mount Olive fired 20 in the 90 minutes of action.
Pfeiffer returns to the pitch on Saturday traveling down to Coker for a 1:30 p.m. matchup with the Cobras.
