GAFFNEY, SC- The Pfeiffer women's basketball team (6-21) fell in the Conference Carolinas Tournament on Saturday night to No. 3 Limestone (28-1) by a score of 88-42. Kayla Whitworth scored nine points on 4-for-7 shooting for Pfeiffer.
Limestone was led offensively by Celestra Warren who scored 20 points on 7-of-8 shooting and knocked down three three pointers. Warren added 11 boards to complete the double-double. Jasmine Kearse scored 13 points and dished out six assists for the Saints.
Limestone started the game on a 17-3 run and the Falcons could never climb back into the game. Brittney Washington hit two three pointers and cut the lead to eight at 25-17 but that was as close as Pfeiffer could get.
Pfeiffer turned the Saints over 13 times and scored 12 points off those turnovers. The Saints controlled the paint scoring 30 points from inside the lane and shot 55.2 percent from the floor.
Safia Sheika dished out four assists and grabbed two boards for Pfeiffer. Meg Pritchard chipped in with eight points, and four rebounds.
The loss knocks Pfeiffer out of the conference tournament and ends their season.
