GAFFNEY, SC- The Pfeiffer women's basketball team (5-10, 4-7 CC) were out rebounded by No.8 Limestone (16-1, 11-0 CC) 47-22 in a 75-48 loss to the Saints on Monday night. Meg Pritchard led the Falcons scoring 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting and grabbed five boards, while Alexis Stallard added 10 points. Pfeiffer battled the Saints and had the deficit to just four points in the second half, but were outscored 28-5 down the stretch.
The Saints had three players in double figures, paced by Jasmine Kearse with 19 points. Alicia Brookins contributed with a double-double scoring 15 points and grabbing 12 rebounds and Precilla Hill scored 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the floor.
Limestone's bench played a huge role in the game, outscoring the Falcons 24-2. The Sains had 16 second chance points compared to only four for Pfeiffer. The Falcons trailed 34-21 at the end of the first half but made a comeback early in the second half. A 10-0 run cut the lead to 47-43 with 10:26 to play. However, a 12-3 run pushed the lead to 60-46. A pair of Brianna Jones free throws with 3:29 to play cut into the lead, but would be Pfeiffer's last points of the contest as the Saints scored the last 12 points of the game.
The Saints outshot the Falcons 44.8 percent to 35.6 percent and had 12 more offensive rebounds than Pfeiffer.
Dejea Scott contributed with a team-high three steals to go along with four rebounds and four assists. Carter Williams scored six points and added three assists and three rebounds.
Pfeiffer returns home on Friday, January 23 for a matchup with Erskine tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
