WILSON, NC- The Pfeiffer women's basketball team (5-8, 4-5 CC) couldn't overcome 30 turnovers as they fell to Barton College (6-9, 5-3 CC) 66-49 on Tuesday night. Meg Pritchard led the Falcons with 13 points and eight rebounds and Carter Williams added 11 points.
Barton was led by Tiffany Webster with 15 points and Kaila Lea who scored 10 points. The Bulldogs dominated the paint scoring 38 points in the lane compared to only 18 for Pfeiffer and Barton's bench outscored the Falcons 37 to 10.
The Falcons struggled offensively in the Conference Carolinas matchup. Pfeiffer was held to just 28.9 percent shooting on 13-for-45 from the field.
Each team grabbed 38 rebounds in the contest as Barton held the lead for the final 37:27 of the game.
Barton went into the break with a 33-22 lead and shot 40 percent in the first half. Pfeiffer forced 10 second half turnovers and held the Bulldogs to 36.7 percent shooting in the second half but were unable to close the gap on the scoreboard.
The Falcons stay on the road on Saturday traveling to Banner Elk to play Lees-McRae with tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m.
