Pfeiffer Softball Downs Rivier, 8-1
North Myrtle Beach, S.C.– The Pfeiffer University softball team won their 10th straight game, downing Rivier College by an 8-1 score at the Fastpitch Dreams Classic in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. Pfeiffer's second game of the day against Mansfield was cancelled due to the rainy weather causing field conditions to become unplayable.

How it Happened
Rivier pushed a run across in the top of the first on a sacrifice fly from Brenna Welch after Kasey Smith reached on a leadoff triple. Pfeiffer drew even at 1-1 in the bottom half of the inning when Reece Davis delivered an RBI single that scored Ashlyn Kennedy. Kennedy reached on a single earlier in the inning>
The score remained tied at 1-1 until Pfeiffer played three runs in the third inning. Sara Brown laced a two-run double and Kendra Mayes walked with the bases loaded to push across the third run of the inning.
In the sixth inning, Pfeiffer again came up big, this time with York hitting a three-run double followed by another Brown RBI, this time on a single up the middle.
Pfeiffer then sat down the visitors in the seventh, forcing a groundout and striking out the final two batters to earn the win.
Ashlyn Kennedy earned the win in the circle, as she worked six inning allowing four hits, one run while striking out five. Kyndle Wallace worked the final inning for the Falcons, striking out two batters.
Game two against Mansfield University was cancelled due to afternoon rains making the fields unplayable.
The Falcons will take on Midway College and Otterbein College to complete competition on Thursday.
