Pfeiffer Men's Tennis Drops 6-3 Match to Belmont Abbey

Misenheimer, N.C. (March 11, 2020) – Visiting Belmont Abbey won five of the six singles matches and one doubles match to earn the 6-3 nonconference win at the Knapp Tennis Center on Wednesday afternoon.

THE BASICS

Pfeiffer's Raul Ruiz continued his great play by winning his seventh consecutive match, downing Belmont Abbey's Sean Cliff by a 6-3, 6-3 score at No. 1 singles.

Belmont Abbey had to go to three sets to claim wins over Alec Taylor and Dylan Masters at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.  Francisco Martin downed Taylor, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 while Thomas Rowzie earned a 5-7, 6-1, 7-5 win over Masters.

Pfeiffer did take the Nos. 1 and 2 doubles matches.  Ruiz and Masters won their seventh straight with an 8-4 win while Taylor and Benedikt Pfeiffer won their No. 2 match by an identical 8-4 score.

BACK ON COURT
The Falcons will take a 10-day layoff before their next match, which is scheduled for Saturday, March 21 against Greensboro College at the Knapp Tennis Center.
