Pfeiffer Grabs 7-0 Men's Soccer Win in Regular Season Finale at Berea
Berea, Ky. – The Pfeiffer University men's soccer team scored four first half goals and added three more in the second half to cruise to a 7-0 win over Berea in the regular season finale.
The Falcons wasted no time, getting on the board less than three minute in when Caleb Bratenger netted his sixth goal of the season with an assist from Caz Dabrowski, putting Pfeiffer up 1-0. The lead quickly went to 2-0 when Chris Brown scored his seventh goal of the season from an Eddie Pinion assist. Dabrowski then made it 3-0 with an unassisted goal in the 18th minute.
Kyle Kamm capped the first half scoring in the 23rd minute with an assist credited to Eliud Jaimes.
Pfeiffer scored three more times in the second half, with Fernando Castro joining the scorers with an assist from Arian Cindahl made it 5-0 in the 84th minute. Less than four minutes later, Shawn Jorgensen made it 6-0 when Bratenger supplied an assist and the final tally of the match came just a few second later from the foot of Jonathan Quintero with a Jorgensen assist.
Pfeiffer's goaltenders Sebastian Zertuche and David Chavarria earned the combined shutout with Zertuche getting the win to finish the season at 3-1.
The Falcons finish the regular season at 9-8 overall and 5-7 in USA South play.
