Pfeiffer Men's Basketball Falls in Exhibition at Young Harris
Young Harris, Ga. – Young Harris got 21 points and eight rebounds from Jacorie Archine as the Young Harris College men's basketball team defeated Pfeiffer University 91-82 in a non-conference exhibition game on Monday evening at the YHC Basketball Arena.
In a game that saw neither team lead by more than nine points, Young Harris took the lead for good as they reeled off six unanswered points to open up a 59-55 lead after Brandon Beloti hit one of two free throws with 12:42 remaining. Pfeiffer would pull to within a point (64-63) after
Taylan Rowe (Oakboro, N.C.) sank one of his five three-pointers less than two minutes later.
Young Harris then got two straight baskets to take the 82-75 lead at the 4:34 mark and would net their largest lead of the game at 88-79 with 1:01 left.
Pfeiffer's Josiah Avington (Fredericksburg, Va.) finished as the top scorer for the Falcons, as he had 20 points while hitting four from long-range. Rowe had 18 points while hitting five three-pointers with teammate Sean Scott (Waldorf, Md.) contributing 12 points. Junior Jamaal David (Clinton, Md.) just missed a double-double, as he finished with eight points and a team-high 12 rebounds in the exhibition loss.
