How it Happened

With the score tied 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Blake Winebarger had a sacrifice fly to right field to plate Noah Martindale for the go-ahead score.

The Falcons added two insurance runs in the next frame on an Eli Blake sacrifice fly to center while Zach Ferrell scored, unearned, on a throwing error.

In the top of the eighth, Adrian had a great opportunity to score but stranded a pair of runners on base. Cooper, who led off with a double down the third base line, was eventually thrown out at home for the second out.

The Bulldogs battled back from a 3-1 deficit to tie it in the sixth. With two outs, junior Ty Peck reached on a fielding error that plated Cardentey and classmate Nick Rauch for unearned runs.

The teams traded runs in the second before Pfeiffer scored twice in the fifth to go up 3-1.

Both teams left 12 runners on base.

Pfeiffer freshman catcher Jake Brown finished 2-for-4 on the afternoon while driving in two runs.
