MISENHEIMER, NC- The Pfeiffer women's volleyball team (0-17, 0-10 CC) dropped a three set match to Conference Carolinas foe Lees-McRae (8-13, 4-6 CC) on Friday night. Talor Hewitt put together a solid performance for the Falcons, recording a match-high nine kills, to go along with three digs and one service ace.
Pfeiffer looked to bounce back after a first set loss. The Falcons jumped out to a 10-8 lead, the Bobcats responded by rattling off four straight points to take a 12-10 advantage. With Pfeiffer trailing 18-16, Sam Smith came up big for the Falcons on back-to-back plays, Smith recorded a kill followed by a block assist to tie the match back up 18-18. However, it wasn't enough as the Bobcats scored three of the final four points of the set.
Darian Parsons led LMC registering a match-high 16 assists, and added six digs. Avalon Liscio posted seven kills and a match-high .462 hitting percentage for the Bobcats. Lees-McRae held a big advantage in hitting percentage, hitting .307 as a team compared to only .075 for Pfeiffer.
Erin Errington had eight kills for the Falcons, and Sydney Freeman chipped in with a team-high three service aces. Senior libero Brittany Blackburn led the team with eight digs, and Katie Wilson had 11 assists on the night.
Pfeiffer hosts a Tri-match tomorrow, as they host King tomorrow at 2:00 p.m., and then play Georgia College in the night cap at 6:00 p.m.
