GREENSBORO, NC- The Pfeiffer women's volleyball team (0-5) dropped a three set match to future USA South foe Greensboro College (3-2) on Wednesday night. The Falcons were led by Erin Errington who registered a match-high eight kills and a team-high 11 digs for Pfeiffer.
Despite four kills from Errington in the opening set the Falcons fell 25-18. After dropping the second Pfeiffer looked poised to take the third set jumping out to a 5-1 lead. Katie Wilson opened the game up with back-to-back services aces, Tiana Gildernew followed that up with a kill igniting a 3-0 Falcons run. Greensboro answered with a 6-0 run of their own to take a 9-7 lead. With Pfeiffer trailing 14-10, the Falcons scored five of the next six points to pull the score to 15-14. However, the Pride answered back closing off the set on a 9-2 run.
Wilson recorded a match-high 12 assists for the Falcons, and sophomore Talor Hewitt chipped in with four kills, three digs, and two solo blocks.
Brandy Johnson led Greensboro with a match-high six total blocks and five kills for the Pride. Tori Belcher posted a match-high 16 digs, and Haley Bohrer added 10 assists on the evening.
Pfeiffer returns to action on Friday, September 16, opening up Conference Carolinas play against North Greenville at Merner Gymnasium. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
