Women's Tennis Cruises to 9-0 Victory at William Peace

Raleigh, NC – The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team (1-1) used a handful of shutouts to beat William Peace (0-2) by a score of 9-0 for its first win of the 2017 spring campaign on Saturday afternoon.

In doubles competition, Olivia Nelms and Meggan Amour handled the Pacers' Rachael Peoples and Alex Young, 8-0. Mylene Petitpas and ShaNisha White also defeated Manessah Fox and Deja Gainey with the same result.


Singles were no different. From the No. 1 position, Nelms won her match against Peoples 6-0, 6-0. Petitpas had a strong victory over Young, 6-0, 6-0, and Amour's duel with Fox also resulted in a 6-0, 6-0 final. Brittany Blackburn finishing things off for the Falcons, winning 7-6, 6-4 over Gainey.

Pfeiffer will return to the court next Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Catawba for a 2 p.m. start time.
