BANNER ELK, N.C. - Trailing 28-19 at the half, Pfeiffer University stormed back for 45 second half points stealing a 64-57 victory in Conference Carolinas women's basketball action at Lees-McRae College on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Falcons win their fourth-straight overall, including all three on the recent road trip, to improve to 15-3 overall, 10-3 in league play. The loss for the Bobcats drops them to 7-10, 5-9.
The rally started with just 7:10 remaining in the second half as the Lady Falcons found themselves down by 10 in a 50-40 hole. A jumper by Brittany Cox started and finished a 9-0 run while a three-ball from Jodie Lemons and pair of free throws by Christina Harvey aided the run. Free throws would keep the Bobcats ahead by no more than three until Harvey hit a pair of free throws with 1:58 remaining gave Pfeiffer a 57-56 lead. Harvey and Cox would then account for the final six points in a 64-57 win.
Cox and Harvey each posted double-doubles for the Lady Falcons in the come-from-behind win. Cox scored 26 with 12 rebounds on nearly 50% shooting from the floor going 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Harvey tossed in 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting with a dozen rebounds as well. Lauren Lewis led the Bobcats with 20 points in 38 minutes of play.
