Falcons Fall In Three Sets To Limestone

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Pfeiffer Falcons (0-15, 0-14 CC) fell to the Limestone Saints (11-8, 11-6 CC) on Saturday afternoon inside Merner Gymnasium, 3-0. Evan Blair had a match-high 15 kills while hitting .310 for the match.

After  the Saints took set one, 25-14,  the Falcons came out and played a competitive set two. Pfeiffer jumped out to a 14-11 lead in the set but the Saints were able to rally off the next three points to tie it at 14-14 behind three consecutive errors from Blair.

Pfeiffer was able to take the next point on a service error by Bruno Kretzschmar, but again Pfeiffer  struggled to side out the Saints with three more errors from Corbin Keller, Jesse Print and Blair.

The game was still in contention, as Pfeiffer and Limestone traded points back and forth. The Falcons were able to rally off three consecutive points of their own at the end of game and close the Saints lead to one, 24-23, But again down by one point Keller again stepped up to serve but his  ball went errantly into the net for the Limestone 25-23 win.

Though the Falcons lost in set two, they were able to out hit the Saints .226 to .221.

In set three Limestone dominated with their attack as they hit .519 to take the set, 25-16.

Pfeiffer returns to action on Tuesday as they travel to North Greenville for their last road match of the season, starting at 7 p.m.
