Falcons Fall In Three To Crusaders

MISENHEIMER, NC – The Pfeiffer Falcons (0-5, 0-5 CC) fell to the North Greenville Crusaders (4-9, 4-3 CC) on Tuesday night, 3-0 inside Merner Gymnasium.

In set one, the Falcons took an early 6-4 lead with the help of a block by Evan Blair and two kills from Jesse Print. North Greenville took the lead the rest of the way as they score six unanswered points before a side out occurred on a bad set from setter Alexander Schinzing. Pfeiffer was able to stay within at least four points in the next 12. Blair, Jesse Print and Corbin Keller all had kills to rally to a 20-18 score. North Greenville scored the last five points to go onto win 25-18.

After falling behind by six points, 14-8 in set two, Pfeiffer showed heart as they clawed their way back into the game and as they cut it to a 15-14 Crusader lead. Later in the set, the Falcons saw themselves down by six points but three North Greenville errors and a kill by Keller brought the score closer to 24-21, but eventually losing the next point and the loss at 25-21.

Pfeiffer fell in game three by the same game one score of 25-18 as they had 12 team kills and helping them to a .240 hitting percentage. On the night Pfeiffer did not hit negative in any of the three set.

For the Falcons, Blair and Keller both nine kills on the evening. Keller's previous high for kills on the season was five. Print had a team-high eight digs and Hunter Gray had 21 assists.

Pfeiffer returns to action on Friday as they travel to Limestone for a 7 p.m. first serve.
