Men's Volleyball Swept at Belmont Abbey

BELMONT, N.C. - The Pfeiffer men's volleyball team (0-4, 0-4 Conference Carolinas) dropped its road match at Belmont Abbey (3-5, 2-3) by a final of 3-0 (25-14, 25-11, 25-20) at the Wheeler Center on Tuesday night.

Pfeiffer held close in the third set, hitting .077 percent and trailed 13-12, 17-15, and 19-17, but the Crusaders were able to surge for four straight points to hold on and finish out the sweep. Austin Quinn ended the match with a season-high nine kills and Pierce Pliapol added 25 assists. Eight different players on Belmont Abbey had at least one dig.

Jessie Print led the Falcons with eight kills. Evan Blair and Corbin Keller recorded six and five, respectively. Setter Hunter Gray finished the night with 17 assists, and five players contributed two digs or more. Blair also had a pair of blocks, giving him 11 on the season.

Pfeiffer will host North Greenville in Merner Gymnasium next Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.
