MISENHEIMER, NC – The Pfeiffer men's volleyball team (0-1, 0-1 CC) dropped their first match of the season as they fell to the Mount Olive Trojans (2-3, 1-0 CC) 3-0 inside Merner Gymnasium on Tuesday night. Senior Evan Blair tied a match-high with 14 kills and added five digs
In set one, Mount Olive went on scoring runs of four consecutive and six consecutive points as they won 25-15 and hit .333.
Set two started off strong for Pfeiffer as they were able to stay within one point (6-5) of the Trojans, but were unable to maintain that pace. With the score 21-12, the Falcons connected for three consecutive points that cut the lead down to 21-15 as Blair tallied a kill and senior Corbin Keller had service ace.
Mount Olive hit .652 in the third set as they went onto 25-15 victory
Falcon junior Jesse Print pitched in seven kills and Keller had two services on the evening.
In their first three sets of the season, the young Pfeiffer team was able to hit positive in each set: .118, .300 and .250.
Falcon setter Hunter Gray led his team with 22 assists on the night.
Pfeiffer returns to action on January 31 as they travel to King for a Conference Carolinas match set for 7:00 p.m.
