Pfeiffer Tennis Takes Loss to NC Wesleyan

Misenheimer, N.C. – The Pfeiffer men's tennis team took a home loss to N.C. Wesleyan 9-0 on Saturday afternoon. It was just the second loss of the season for the team, and their first since the fall against Catawba.

In singles play, Raul Ruiz came up just short in his match against J.D. Telles, losing 6-2, 4-6, and 10-6. The Falcons' number one player Bjorn Barwinski lost a hard fought match against Sebastian Sikh 6-2, 6-4. Senior Thomas Hubble also took a loss to Ioannis Brokakis 6-3, 6-3.

In doubles competition, Pfeiffer was defeated 3-0. Hubble and Ruiz played a hard fought match against Telles and Aditya Iyer, but lost 8-5. Barwinski and David Weir lost their match 8-3, while Eduan Louw and Trey Speight were defeated 8-1.

The Falcons take the court again when they travel to Shaw to take on the Bears on Saturday. The match is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
