Siaj Earns National Team Call from Jordan; Scores Goal in First Game

OKLAHOMA CITY – Former Pfeiffer men's soccer player and national champion Jaime Siaj has been selected by Jordan's National Team for a pair of upcoming international exhibitions at the end of the month, the club announced.

The native of Madrid, Spain qualifies to play for Jordan through his father's Jordanian heritage. The team, nicknamed the Brave Gentlemen, is scheduled to play against Cyprus on May 20 and then against China on May 26.

"I'm really looking forward to playing on this stage," said Siaj. "I am thankful to the players and coaching staff for supporting me on this trip because I know it's a tough time for the team. I think it's a good step for my career. I look forward to representing my roots and hope I have a good trip with them and enjoy the time there."

"I think this is an incredible opportunity for Jaime," commented VP for Athletics and Siaj's coach at Pfeiffer Bob Reasso. "We're all really excited for him. He's just scratching the surface of his potential as a professional player and playing with their international team can only enhance his performance in the future."

Siaj ranks third in program history with 47 career goals and 122 career points. He became the first player in program history to be selected in the MLS SuperDraft when the Colorado Rapids took him with the first pick of the third round.
