Richmond Strikes Out Nine in Pfeiffer Win Over WPU
Cary, N.C. (March 14, 2019) –Pfeiffer University pitcher Nick Richmond struck out nine batters and scattered five hits as the Falcons earned a 9-4 USA South baseball win over William Peace University at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary, N.C. on Friday night.
Pfeiffer – 11-3, 5-2 USA South
William Peace – 4-12, 0-6 USA South
The Falcons scored two runs in the first thanks to a pair of RBI singles from Kirby Lambert and Bryce Marsh.
Marsh came around the score again in the fourth, as he reached by doubling to right field and would score on an Ira Dorin single, putting Pfeiffer up 3-1.
Dorin would hit a solo homer in the sixth and a single from Hayden McGraw would drive in Bryan Kowalski, making it 5-2. Kirby Lambert would then add a home run in the seventh to extend the lead to 6-2.
Pfeiffer plated three more runs in the eighth to provide the eventual 9-4 final.

The Falcons will take on William Peace in game two of the USA South series on Saturday, March 16 at 6:00 p.m. at the USA Baseball Complex.
